Fishing Contest

Fishing Contest

Silver rewards your catches. Gold rewards a better team record. Plan for those two goals separately.

How it works

Choose a rod multiplier, catch a fish, and earn silver based on its type and weight. Silver unlocks your personal milestone rewards and rod upgrades. A better record for a species also earns gold for your team.

Before you fish

Bait drop chance: 0.3% per fishing rod spent. Each active bait adds +1 Luck Level for the entire team for 10 minutes, with up to 4 stacks. Coordinate a fishing session so teammates can use the boost together.
  1. Check your current rod level and the next upgrade in the reward list.
  2. Agree on a bait window with your teammates. One active bait increases team luck for 10 minutes; up to four stacks can apply.
  3. Decide whether you are pushing silver or searching for record improvements before choosing a multiplier.
Keep support timing practical. Scatter bait when teammates can fish. A bait boost that expires while everyone is offline offers little opportunity to use it.

What the numbers mean

Luck Level equals rod level plus active bait stacks in the inspected client. Higher luck changes both rarity chances and weight-tier chances. It does not identify which fish will appear next.

Gold and multiplier are different. The published rule explicitly scales silver by the multiplier. It does not promise the same scaling for gold record gains. Lower multipliers give more paid catch attempts from a fixed rod budget; higher multipliers advance silver in larger steps.

Useful habits, without folklore

Reached your personal silver milestone target? Switch to ×1 for team records. At the same rod level and bait stacks, ×1 gives you more catch attempts from your remaining rods. Each attempt is another chance to improve a team fish record, while higher multipliers mainly help you push silver milestones faster. Coordinate with teammates to fish during an active bait window. ×1 does not increase the chance of a better fish per catch.
  • Coordinate bait and use the luck level you actually have, rather than assuming all teammates share the same rod level.
  • Check which fish records still have room to improve. The heaviest species is not automatically the most valuable.
  • Check the next milestone before spending returned Pinballs. A claimed reward is a choice, not a requirement to reinvest.
